About 80% of cosmetics is still testing on animals – on rats, rabbits, cats, guinea pigs and even dogs. Millions of such experimental animals die every year around the world. The main reason to use such tests is cheapness, since alternative options cost several times as much. To conduct experiments, animals are breeding on a special farms, or they can be bought at auctions or in the animal shelter.

What animal tests are carried out for cosmetics?

The main reasons for testing – is to confirm:

- the absence of acute and chronic toxicity;

- absence of mutagenic, carcinogenic, neurotoxic, teratogenic effects;

- lack of impact on reproductive function;

- as well as irritating and sensitizing action.
